HTC showed u12+ and said VR is the future

On May 25th, HTC held the "New Ecology, Re-triggering - 2018 VIVE New Ecology Conference & Flagship Mobile Conference" (VEC2018) in Shenzhen, bringing its newest flagship smartphone HTC U12+'s China debut and demonstrating its integration: A series of interactive functions of smart phones and VR devices.

With the release of the HTC U12+ and the launch of the VIVE FOCUSTM System Update 2.0, HTC has truly achieved seamless integration of mobile devices with immersive experiences. At the meeting, HTC also announced a number of cross-industry strategic cooperation. By integrating the advantages of VR, AR, 5G and AI technologies, HTC will work together with global partners to create a richer new ecosystem and realize the good vision of Vive Reality.

Vive Focus System Update 2.0

The updated Vive Focus allows users to stay in touch with the outside world while immersing themselves in the VR world. Users can receive text messages, telephone calls, and notifications from social media without removing their heads. At the same time, users of the HTC U12+ can update the built-in Vive application on the mobile phone and experience the latest linkage between the HTC U12+ and Vive Focus. The Vive app update will also be launched on the HTC official app store and Tencent App Store in the near future to bring a converged immersive experience to VTC devices for all HTC smartphone users.

In order to meet the user's demand for using VR when traveling by vehicle, the "passenger mode" in the updated version enables Vive Focus users to get rid of the position tracking limit and "sit" to enjoy an immersive entertainment experience of up to 4 hours. In addition, the user can simply double-click the power button to activate the look-around mode, allowing him to freely explore the surroundings without having to take off his head. This updated version also enables the ability to directly install applications to a microSD memory card (up to 2TB capacity), allowing users to enjoy a wide range of premium content.

HTC will continue to focus on the optimization of Vive Focus, creating a superior user experience through a series of new features that are going online. With the newly introduced software software development kit (SDK) for light gesture recognition technology, developers will have the opportunity to create interactive applications that use two-handed operation. The SDK will be open to VIVEPORTTM registered developers in the coming weeks. In addition, HTC also demonstrated an experience upgrade of the Vive Focus joystick. By utilizing the Vive Focus front-facing camera and its proprietary AI computer vision technology, Vive Focus's existing 3DoF handle also provides users with a 6DoF motion-capturing-like manipulation experience. In addition, through the screen-casting function between the HTC U12+ and Vive Focus, users can break through the limitations of the mobile phone screen and enjoy millions of mobile applications, games, and video content with the Vive Focus experience.

And the new smart phone also looks great. The biggest attraction of phone is the combination with VR. The HTC U12+ can be used as a VR 6-DOF operating handle, and receives all information including SMS, telephone, and WeChat while using the VR device.

Wang Congqing, president of HTC China, said: “The convening of this eco-conference marks the opening of a new chapter in HTC. Innovation has been rooted in our branded genes since the establishment of HTC. Whether it is for intelligent mobile or immersive computing in VR and AR, We have never stopped the pace of innovation, and the new features and experiences we have introduced have solved many of the points of today's VR/AR industry. At the same time, we have demonstrated innovations today that proved the HTC's belief - to build a new ecological combination of VR, AR, AI and 5G, accelerate the realization of the vision of Vive Reality.

AI technology: can know your nationality by checking your handwriting

The handwriting will reveal identity information, but now AI technology goes a step further, and the handwriting can expose nationality. Researchers have tried to read handwriting through AI to get information about the person's emotions, gender, age, etc. This time their focus has expanded from individual to nationality. The 100 volunteers were from Malaysia, Iran, China, India, and Bangladesh. Researchers asked them to write the same English, and then use a linear distribution (COLD) recognition tool to analyze the shape distribution characteristics of the font, such as straightness, Bending and so on. The results showed that even if the volunteers with the same nationality were written in the country, the handwriting showed a distinct "nationality" character. This is the difference in writing habits made by words. Chinese people who are accustomed to straight strokes of Chinese characters, even if they write Roman letters, will not change the straight-line wr...

Like blockchain, AR is one of the most breakthrough technologies in 2018

Augmented reality, as well as blockchain technology, is one of the most breaking technologies in 2018. Major IT giants such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Snapchat have been contending for leadership in the past few years. The AR-related project investment has exceeded 3 billion U.S. dollars last year. And by 2021, the market is expected to grow to 83 billion U.S. dollars. By the end of 2018, at least 1 billion smartphone users will use augmented reality applications. The VR/AR technology needs to be popular. The public needs to allow users to create and manage VR/AR projects simply and intuitively without leaving home. Just like today we can upload photos, videos or 3D graphics on various social media. As the blockchain, the main task of the Arcona blockchain ecosystem is to provide millions of users with simple and affordable tools for launching their own AR projects around the world. The ecosystem is built on a unique technology platform that can automatically g...
