Like many people expected, this year's MWC Shanghai show did not have much surprise. The VR field is still slow, hardware iteration speeds slow, yet the content has once again raise everyone's attention. With the advent of Apple ARKit and Google ARCore, mobile AR has been making rapid progress this year. Both hardware vendors and content providers are following suit. In the following we will review the MWC Shanghai show this year on VR/AR and related issues. This year, MWC Shanghai has opened 7 exhibition halls for N1-N5, W4, and W5. Among them, N1-N4 focuses on industrial fields. For example, IoT, Smart City, and robots are basically all around 5G, and AR/ Exhibition areas such as VR/MR are concentrated in Hall W5.
